How to build self-confidence

09 September 2023

Building self-confidence is a work that, when done systematically, can produce amazing results. However, it is not about changing yourself, but about understanding yourself well. To start building your self-confidence, consider and write down on a piece of paper:

1. What are my strengths?

Write down your talents - find what others praise you for, what your employer appreciates. Remember your last success, a task well done: what allowed you to achieve such a result?

  • Write down at least 3 traits on a piece of paper

2. What behavior of yours makes you feel good?

Remember a few social situations. How do you behave in a group? How does it help you? Which behaviors do you repeat and feel good about?

  • Write down all the "good" behaviors you observe in yourself on a piece of paper

3. Now hang this piece of paper in a visible place and every time you look at it, appreciate yourself and accept your behaviors, because they are good for you. Look at this card often. People with high self-esteem are aware of their strengths, what they can do, and what they are good at. They are not discouraged by the fact that something is not working out, because they know that "He who does nothing does not make mistakes." Mistakes and shortcomings do not speak to your worth and do not in any way diminish your talents. They only add you experiences and opportunities for learning!

It is worth starting the work on your self-confidence by appreciating yourself and noticing what you achieve thanks to the way you are. The goal of working on yourself is not to change yourself, but to add skills, increase potential while respecting what we already have in ourselves. Building self-confidence is about strengthening yourself!
